How It’s Made
Woolaver Orthodontics is the first orthodontic office in the valley to offer impressionless, digital scanning. The newest technology for your comfort and convenience.
Align Technology takes a CT scan of the impression of your teeth to create an accurate 3D digital model. You’ll see a virtual representation of your teeth before, during, and after completion so you can see what your smile should look like when you’re done with treatment.
Dr. Woolaver works with Align technicians using CAD (computer-aided-design) technology to simulate movements of your teeth. Together, we’ll review and plan so you can see how this amazing technology works and how it’s going to transform your smile.
Align uses advanced stereolithography (SLA) technology to create custom, individual, clear aligners for every stage of your treatment.
You’ll wear each aligner for about 2 weeks. Dr. Woolaver and his team will monitor your progress every 6-8 weeks until you get the results you want and the smile you deserve.

What’s the best way to clean my aligners?
The best way to clean your aligners is to use the Invisalign cleaning kit, available for order from your doctor. As a secondary method, however, your aligners can also be cleaned by brushing them and rinsing them in lukewarm water.
Will Invisalign treatment be painful?
While Invisalign moves your teeth without the pain and anxiety of metal braces, some people will experience temporary discomfort for a few days at the beginning of each new stage of treatment. This is normal and is typically described as a feeling of pressure. It’s also a sign that Invisalign is working, as it moves your teeth to their final destination. This discomfort typically goes away in a couple of days.
How often must I wear my aligners?
For the best, quickest results, wear your aligners all day, except when eating, brushing or flossing.
Will wearing Invisalign aligners affect my speech?
Similar to other orthodontic treatments, Invisalign aligners may temporarily affect the speech of some people, and you may have a slight lisp for a day or two. However, as your tongue gets used to having aligners in your mouth, any lisp caused by the aligners should disappear.
Can I chew gum while wearing aligners?
No, gum will stick to the aligners. We recommend removing your aligners for all meals and snacks, and brushing before replacing the aligners.
How often must I see the doctor for check-ups?
Your doctor will schedule regular appointments – usually about once every four to six weeks. The goal of these visits are to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
Are there restrictions on what I can eat while in treatment?
No. Thanks to the removable nature of the aligners, you can eat and drink whatever you want while in treatment. In fact, you’re required to remove your aligners to eat and drink. So, unlike undergoing traditional treatment using wires and brackets, there is no need to restrict your consumption of any of your favorite foods and snacks unless instructed otherwise by your doctor. Also, it is important that you brush your teeth after each meal and prior to re-inserting your aligners to maintain fresh breath and proper hygiene.
Will smoking stain the aligners?
We discourage smoking while wearing aligners because it is possible for the aligners to become discolored.
Let’s face it. You’ve got school, sports, hanging out with friends. So getting metal braces is not at the top of your list of favorite things to do. You want the confidence of a great smile – let Invisalign Teen® get you there, with the virtual invisibility of our clear aligners.
